‘ The greatest oak was once a little acorn that held its ground ’

Welcome to Beech Class

If you are a Year 3 or Year 4 child at William Gilpin you will be in Beech.

My name is Miss Butler and I am the teacher in Class 3.

The children work through topics in a cross curricular style. Overviews are available on the school website. Beech Class are also lucky enough to work with Hampshire Listen2me who deliver a weekly music lesson. The children cover several instruments a year such as Brass, Samba and Voice.

Information that may be useful

  • P.E. is currently on Monday and Thursday. However, your child should have their P.E. kit in school every day as this can sometimes change.
  • Your child will have two books (one reading stage book and one book of choice) and they can change these in the mornings before worship.
  • In Beech Class we have Mr.Watson. If your child stands out for good behaviour they may be chosen to take Mr.Watson home. It is their choice whether to write in the diary or just to enjoy having him for the night.
  • If you need to speak to me regarding anything please leave a message with the school office and I will phone you back as soon as possible. You could also send me a note in your child’s communication book or a private letter if preferred. I will not always have time to talk to parents at the end of the day due to after school clubs or meetings but will do so where this is possible.
