Merry Christmas from Everyone at William Gilpin!

This Christmas has been very successful at school. The children had a lot of fun making Christmas tree decorations for the school Christmas Tree. Can you see your decoration in the photograph?

The children have also been enjoying making a range of Christmas and winter crafts, learning Christmas songs for the school Church service and the Choir have been busy performing in the local community.

On Thursday 8th December we had our school Christmas lunch. Thank you very much to all the adult helpers.

This year Class 1 and 2 performed their nativity called ‘Whoops-a-Daisy Angel’. There was an angel who was always scruffy and made very silly mistakes. Her name was Whoops-a-Daisy. Whoops-a-daisy normally counted snowflakes as a job. However, one day she is given a very important job to do. She has to fly to Bethlehem and tell everyone about the Birth of Jesus. Whoops-a-Daisy finds Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus just in time for the arrival of the Shepherds, 3 wise men and all the other Angels. Well done Whoops-a-Daisy!!

Yesterday the whole school took part in the ready steady cook challenge!

During the morning each class participated in a session on eating a healthy balanced meal. In the afternoon the whole school became the audience of our very own Ready, Steady Cook competition. Mrs Doggett and Mrs Timmings bravely cooked a stir fry dish in 10 minutes. The school council judged the competition, which ended in a draw.
